Not exactly a spoiler, if you've read Saiyuki...


The plot of the manga Saiyuki deals with 4 guys on a road trip west. Along the way you learn that they've lived other lives, and Gaiden tells the story of the first life, when 3 of them were gods in Heaven.

Konzen's a bureaucrat, Tenpou and Kenren are officers in the Army. Thanks to The Merciful Goddess, and a kid named Goku, they kick off a rebellion in Heaven and are stuck with reincarnation.

While they're not all dead just yet, you know how it ends.
